Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping

The Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping is the entry of the two levels in the AAT Bookkeeping qualification. There are no entry requirements to study this level except it is expected that the learner has a good command of the English language and good mathematical skills.

The Foundation level assumes no prior accounting knowledge and starts at the very beginning of practical application accountancy. Please download the full syllabus below. There are two modules and two examinations to the Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping qualification. It takes approximately 8 weeks to complete for full time students and 12 for part time students.

Foundation Fast-track to Accounting

The Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping can also be studied as the fast track entry into the AAT full accounting qualifications. The qualification covers all of the required knowledge and understanding as can be seen in the syllabus below, for students to comfortably and successfully progress on to the Advanced Diploma in Accounting level 3.
